Description of Services
Initial Scalping: This service is provided
at the beginning of the growing season. It removes
un-decomposed debris and allows sunlight to penetrate
the grass. This service promotes the health and
future growth of the turf.
Mowing, Edging, Line Trimming and Debris Removal:
All turf areas are professionally mowed. All surface
areas that meet concrete will be edged to perfection,
all vertical separations, such as tree rings,
bedding areas, lawn edging and all other applicable
locations will be line trimmed with precision.
All debris will be removed from your lawn. We
will not leave bags or other debris on your property.
Shrub Trimming, Pruning, Cultivation and Weeding:
This service includes the hand trimming of all
shrubs and ornamentals. The pruning of shrubs
to maintain natural shape, cultivation and hand
weeding of all bedding areas is also included.
Turf Fertilization: The fertilization
of turf is accomplished in three applications.
The applications provide nourishment to your turf,
as well as strengthens it against disease and
broadleaf weeds.
Spring
Spring Clean Up
Now is the time to remove all leaves, sticks and
other debris. Heavy accumulation of lawn debris
will smother the lawn and create bare areas.
Fertilize
In the spring your lawn will need a fertilizer
to stimulate an early green up.
Pre-Emergent
This application is a weed preventer (pre-emergent).
This special application will not only give your
lawn the food it needs, but prevent certain weeds
from growing throughout the summer months.
Mulch Beds
Re-mulching landscape beds around your home will
help keep the soil moist to the roots of the plants
and discourages the growth of weeds.
Seasonal Color
Brighten up your curb appeal after a cold winter.
Install seasonal color in to your landscape.
Lawn Mowing
Scalping your lawn in February will remove the
thatch that accumulated during the previous year
and promote growth and a healthy lawn; afterwards
it’s time to start scheduled mowing.
Summer
Proper Watering
Water in the morning and try to avoid late afternoon
or night watering. This will allow ample time
for the grass and plants to dry throughout the
day and prevents fungus or other bacteria from
growing in moist areas overnight. A lawn needs
about 1 inch of water per week.
Aerating
During the summer sol tends to become compacted.
Compaction can be decreased by aerating. Aerating
your lawn helps water seep down to the grass roots
and brings air back into the sub-soil. Sub-surface
air and water are necessary for turf to grow.
Fertilize
It is necessary to fertilize in the summer to
continue the health regimen of your lawn. This
will help thicken the grass and promote an overall
greener lawn.
Grub Worm Prevention Application
White grubs are the larvae (the young) of certain
beetles that can cause devastating damage to your
lawn. They also attack the roots of flowers, vegetables
and ornamentals. Grubs are easy to identify, but
often go unnoticed because they live underground.
It is better to apply an application to prevent
them because once you notice them it is too late
and the damage has already been done. Once the
grub application has been applied to your lawn,
it takes between 4 to 6 weeks for the grubs to
die if they are present.
Lawn Mowing
Avoid cutting your lawn too short, longer is better.
Optimal length of your grass should be 3 inches.
This helps shade out weeds, keeps the roots cooler
and encourages deeper root growth. Cutting too
much off the top leads to thinned out grass and
shallow root systems.
Fall
Pre-Emergent Application
This specially formulated winterizing fertilizer
is higher in nitrogen and contains a weed preventer.
This application will make the grass more winter
hardy, help prevent weeds and green up the lawn
earlier next spring.
Fertilize
It is necessary to fertilize in the fall to continue
the health regimen of your lawn. This will help
thicken the grass and promote an overall greener
lawn.
Lawn Renovation
Fall is the time to over-seed your lawn with a
fescue or rye application.
Plant
This is a great season for planting trees and
shrubs. These new plants will have plenty of time
to settle in before winter dormancy. Make sure
they have plenty of mulch and water on a regular
basis until they become established.
Seasonal Color
This is the perfect time to remove all of the
remaining spring color from your landscape, clean
out the beds, install new fall color and remulch.
Winter
Remove Weeds & Debris
Always remove all debris and leaves from your
lawn. This is important for winter lawn care so
that the debris does not breakdown or decompose
on your lawn and cause possible fungus or other
lawn disease problems. Even though there may be
fewer weeds in the winter, still make sure they
are removed so they do not choke out your slower
growing lawn.
